Day 23 - Why is Gene special to you?

I discovered Gene Kelly’s movies during a particularly difficult time in my life.  Now, he is one of a few people that, no matter what kind of mood I’m in, can instantly put a smile on my face and a spring in my step.  It takes no more than putting on one of his movies, listening to one of his songs, watching one of his dance routines, or scrolling though some of his pictures on my computer.

So Mr. Kelly, on what would have been your 99th birthday, I would very much like to say - 

Thank you for making my darkest days brighter and my brightest days positively brilliant.
